My sister gets annual screening for BRCA2 gene and luckily had her screening just before lockdown but I think this lockdown has had a horrible impact on cancer patients in the long term. Delayed screenings, appointments and treatments. Limited resources and stress only causes further damage.

I’m currently going through chemo, and I haven’t really had any issues. I feel obligated to add in also that I live pretty comfortably, and am nearing the end of my treatment, and have really fantastic insurance too though. So, being in the medical field, and knowing someone going through cancer treatments (my friend has lymphoma), I can definitely attest that it’s much harder on patients than in pre-COVID era. I haven’t been affected by this much because although I know a few people with covid, i don’t know of anyone with cancer trying to get treatment during covid…but I do know there are definitely resources out there online if you need help with treatment plans etc such as:…[Read more]
