Exactly! I think it’s absolutely insane to fight and control people on who they personally love. There’s already so much hate in the world…why focus on making more?

We shouldn’t have to fight for people’s rights to love who they want. They should already have those rights.

I had an idea to maybe do “Run for Science” where we try to have speakers that are scientists running for office. Make it about the vote this year. Maybe do either a 5k or a 1 mile “fun run”.

I co-chaired the program committee last time around. I don’t have the bandwidth at the moment to take on a full leadership role, but I’d be happy to act as a consultant &/or go-between for the scientific community.. particularly Georgia Tech faculty. Hope something gets organized!

Hi Everyone! These are some ideas I had, let me know what you think.
First, this march needs to strive to be as non-partisan as possible. It isn’t about progressive ideas or political ideology. Rather it is about rationality, the scientific method, and the importance of funding and listening to scientific research. The importance of using…

My priorities are as follows:
1. Protect the unfiltered dissemination of peer-reviewed scientific findings.
2. Protect the allocation of federal research funding based on fair, competitive, and transparent merit review criteria by subject matter experts.
3. Ensure that policy decisions are based on reproducible data and conclusions that stand up… -

Protest censorship of evidence based and peer reviewed (by experts in the field, not people with political and financial interests!) science (and scientists), freezing of federal grant money distribution with no explanation, question the financial interests of cabinet member appointments

Personally, it is very important to not make any disparaging comments toward people who already have a distrust toward the scientific community (e.g., climate change deniers, anti-vaccination people). Making degrading or deriding remarks toward people who disagree (no matter what their personal belief system is based on) will only further…
